The ability of the craftsmen stands out to combine these woods with materials like nickel silver.
The pacara is a tree whose wood is light and flexible. The santo wood is a tree whose wood is very resistant with a rich aroma. All of them are hand worked and carved, and dyed with natural dyes of the region.
The nickel silver is an alloy of nickel, zinc and copper, Salta being the province with the greatest tradition in silver and nickel silver handicrafts. The nickel silver is embossed by hand on semi-hard wood with specially-designed chisels.
